Climate Action Network-Uganda CAN-U

Climate Action Network – Uganda was formed as a country network of Climate Action Network International (CAN-I) to forge collaboration and networking among all the national relevant stakeholders to tackle the climate change issues. The Climate Action Network Uganda (CAN-U) is a national network of over 200 Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working to promote government and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels.

CAN-U members place a high priority on both a healthy environment and development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. CAN-U’s vision is to protect the atmosphere while allowing for sustainable and equitable national development. CAN-U members work through information exchange and a coordinated strategy to promote government and individual action to tackle climate change issues in the country. At present, OXFAM-GBU, is serving as the secretariat for the network.
