About CAN-U site

Climate change is a growing priority for NGOs, development agencies, governments and vulnerable communities. However, capacity and awareness are often limited, and experiences have yet to be widely shared. There is lack of systematically documented and shared knowledge on climate change issues and practices among the member and there is no coordinated community of practice in place and information database tailored to the needs of the members/practitioners.

CAN-U website is an online open space on climate change issues which allows network members organisations, practitioners, researchers and policy makers to access credible, high quality information and to share experiences and lessons learnt about climate change with the community. This site provides stakeholders with a common platform for sharing and learning and bridges the knowledge gaps by bringing relevant knowledge to communities, individuals, NGOs, businesses, local and national government, regional and international community.

It is designed to facilitate learning, exchange, collaboration and knowledge integration of climate change risks and adaptation into development policy, planning and operations, build a professional community of practice on climate change issues while developing policy-relevant tools and guidance for climate change planning and decision-making. CAN-U website includes innovative climate change knowledge base for knowledge integration to show who is doing what, where and to create 'climate change stories in Uganda with members/organisation profiles.  Additionally, the CAN-U website complements the wide range of CAN-International networks and initiatives.
